About me

Hello reader,

My name is Nicole Kirkman a student in the Honors Mentorship Program at Flowery branch Highschool. I am a senior in highschool and a very active student. I am in many different programs such as Theatre,Chorus,Youth Leadership Hall, Volleyball, and of course this one Honors Mentorship! I was able to finish all my sciences early but no science class taught me what I have learned in the past couple of months at mentorship.I have been given this amazing oppurtunity to shadow behind Dr.Lori Lebow in the field of opthalmology. Everyday I am able to sit in the common opthalmologic exam  and I have seen it all from diabetic eye exams to the common cataract. Every week I am usually writing on my google blog for my weekday assignment telling other students about my time in my internship and how interested I am in it. Every month I have a group meeting with Mrs.Killingsworth and other students to check on where I should be in research on my career and talk about the amazing things I have been able to learn. This site showcases what I have learned in regard to opthalmology as well as gives you a clear understanding of what a cataract means to the average human being. I loved putting this site together and learning from research indirectly and directly from my mentroship. So go on and take a closer look!
